About the composer.

Katie Davies is a music practitioner and educator in Edinburgh, Scotland. Her work ranges from private piano and music theory lessons to community one on one sessions, group sessions and school projects through Drake Music Scotland, winners of the Scottish Charity of the Year award 2019. Katie was also appointed a Grade Examiner with ABRSM in January 2024.

The Cat’s Pyjamas was born out of Katie’s love of jazz, funk and soul. As a piano teacher, Katie felt there was a lack of quality repertoire that suits the needs of students at an intermediate level. Wanting more challenging but accessible music, with fun jazz and contemporary themes that are satisfying to hear and play, The Cat’s Pyjamas was created. This collection has a focus on rhythmic practice, with plenty of helpful tips throughout. It is an ideal educational tool for both students and teachers.

Unsurprisingly, Katie has a passion for all things feline. When she isn’t making music, Katie can be found walking the Scottish countryside with her two cat companions alongside her. Scroll down for photos of this adorable phenomenon and click the Instagram link to follow their adventures.
